adidas Originals is taking the retro sneaker inspiration quite literally with their latest new silhouette, the Retropy E5. Inspired by classic Three Stripes terrace sneakers and boasting a full-length Boost midsole, the new silo is now available.

Every once in a while footwear brands launch an entirely new silhouette, not directly refined from their past work, that adds something new to their offerings. This month, the adidas Originals team debuted the new Retropy E5 sneaker, a shoe that, while clearly pulling inspiration from vintage adidas, feels like an entirely new addition to the brand’s lineup, thanks to some unique panelling and materials in the upper, and the inclusion of a brand new Boost midsole tooling not currently found on other shoes. The result is an entirely new and very enticing style ripe for the coming Spring and Summer months. Debuted in a simple grey color scheme, the Retropy E5 begins with a ripstop nylon base layer before adding jagged suede overlays to the toe box, heel counter, and lacing system. The thin, patterned tongue is borrowed from adidas’ legendary indoor soccer shoes, while a gum rubber outsole completes the look.
