Nike’s Air Max BW last saw a retro release in 2016, rehashing the classic Air silhouette in original colorways. Now, Nike is bring the BW back into the fold, this time celebrating the shoe’s 30th anniversary with a new “City Pack”.
Nike’s Air Max line has expanded dramatically since its introduction in the 1980s, now including hundreds of different models and variations on those models. However, fans of the Swoosh and the brand alike always seem to return to the classics, like the fan-favorite Air Max BW. Known for its unique lines and fun color blocking options, not to mention its performance traits, the BW is still a beloved model thirty years after its debut. So, its only appropriate that Nike celebrates the shoe’s thirtieth birthday with some new releases, like the “City Pack” colorways we have an early look at today. Dressed in similar color schemes, the three pairs we’ve seen thus far represent Rotterdam in green, Los Angeles in orange, and Lyon in a neutral grey and black look. While details are still scarce regarding the collection, there are likely more colors on the way as well as a more detailed description of the story behind the Air Max BW City Pack.
NIKE AIR MAX BW “CITY PACK” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s new “City Pack” of Air Max BW colorways has yet to be announced for release, though we are expecting these surprise Air Max releases sometime within 2021. Featuring high contrast colorways and unique insoles for each pair, these location-specific Air Max BWs will come with a price tag of $140 per. UPDATE 9/5/21: Nike has announced the release of the orange “Los Angeles”-themed Air Max BW on the SNKRS app, with a date currently set for September 16th, 2021. While the other two pairs have not yet been given release dates, it is likely these colors will be regional exclusives, only available in the continents where the cities reside.
