New Balance continues to roll out new colorways of their 550 trainer, refreshing the retro model with regular new colors. This week, a ‘USA’ edition surfaced, expected to arrive in 2023.
The New Balance 550 has been nonstop since its rise to prominence in 2020. Aimé Leon Dore, the collaborators that helped launch the retro basketball shoe into the stratosphere, has also continued with their releases, in addition to a number of other brands that have given their take on the extremely popular model. This week, a new in-line color of the 550 emerged online, showing off a new ‘USA’ color scheme for the shoe. The pair begins with a plain white leather base layer, adding black accents to the shoe’s piping and collar overlays. The toe caps and heel counters come in a muted blue suede, while red outsole accents complete the red, white, and blue look.

New Balance’s upcoming “USA” edition of the 550 has not been announced for release, but is expected to drop sometime in 2023. The red, white, and blue color scheme will likely be available from both the brand’s website and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $110.
