New Balance’s unusual decisions to make slip-ons out of their running shoes have paid off so far, and this year they are introducing a loafer variant of the 1906, subtitled L, coming later this year.

The 1906L was initially unveiled during a recent Junya Watanabe runway shoe at Paris Fashion Week. The JW pairs were displayed in two initial colorways, and featured premium leathers for a sleek look. Since then, the 1906 loafer has surfaced in in-line styles, indicating that New Balance has bigger plans in store for their latest runner-turned-slip-on. This week, a classic NB “Grey/Silver” color scheme has joined their upcoming releases, pitting the shoe in a grey mesh with a mix of dark grey and metallic silver overlays. The sole adds a creamy off-white tone to balance out the look.
