Vans’ New White Mountaineering Collaboration Brings Skate Sneakers to the Great Outdoors

Vans‘ latest collaboration is bringing its signature sneakers a nature-ready twist.

The skatewear brand has partnered with Japanese streetwear label White Mountaineering on a new collection, featuring two of Vans’ signature sneakers. Both are inspired by the great outdoors, similarly to the ethos of White Mountaineering’s founder, Yosuke Aizawa.

The collaboration, which drops on Oct. 28, includes a tonal blue version of Vans’ low-top Sk8 Low sneaker. The style earns a graphic touch from its allover upper print, featuring a pattern of overlapping blue foliage. Smooth blue rubber outsoles, as well as dark blue laces, complete the 16,500 Yen (approx. 110 USD) shoe with a monochrome finish.

The second shoe to receive a White Mountaineering spin is the Chukka 49 DX sneaker, another round-toed style with smooth uppers and flat rubber soles. This version, whose faintly taller upper openings — akin to a chukka boot — give it its name, features deep orange and brown uppers in the same foliage pattern as their blue counterparts.

Light maroon front laces and trim complete the 15,400 Yen (approx. 103 USD) pair with a fall-ready spin. For an added dash of neutral color, the set’s rubber outsoles are cast in a creamy tan hue with matching maroon upper accents for a tonal finish.

Vans x White Mountaineering’s sneaker collaboration will launch on White Mountaineering’s website on Oct. 28.

Vans’ collaboration with White Mountaineering marks the brand’s latest co-branded release of 2023. Throughout the year, Vans has also dropped collaborative shoes, limited-edition products and capsule collections with a wide array of labels, including Barbie, Gucci, Haribo and more.
