The Top 8 Men’s Shoes of Milan Fashion Week Fall 2024: From Gucci, MSGM + More

As Milan Fashion Week Men’s wrapped earlier this week, it was clear that many designers are reinforcing menswear’s focus on dressing up again.

From derbies to more formal slip-on styles, there was nary a sneaker in sight on the Italian fashion capital runways.

Some eye-catching styles this season came in the form of Gucci’s renewed focus on its Horsebit loafer, Fendi’s new outdoor-inspired silhouettes and JW Anderson’s update to his signature mule. Here, FN rounds up the top 8 men’s shoes of Milan Fashion Week for fall/winter 2024.

Gucci

In his first men’s collection for the Italian fashion house, Sabato De Sarno chose to focus on just one singular silhouette – the platform Horsebit loafer. Literally taking the loafer to new heights, this season’s men’s iteration features a creeper-inspired platform sole made of crepe rubber, silver horsebit hardware and a silver nameplate at the front of the sole. The shoe can be seen on the runway in the brand’s classic beige and brown GG monogram, black and the label’s new red color, first adopted in September.

MSGM

Mary Janes are not just for the ladies anymore. Indeed, MSGM designer Massimo Giorgetti leaned into the budding men’s trend for fall/winter 2024 with his own version of the popular silhouette. The new Mary Jane style is made in brushed calfskin and features a rounded toe and lug sole. It’s finished off with metal buckle closure and MSGM logo details. Styled with white or black socks, the silhouette was featured on the runway in the all black colorway as well as a version covered in silver metal eyelets.

Fendi

Fendi looked to the Scottish countryside for inspiration in its fall/winter 2024. When it comes to this season’s footwear range, these references can be seen in the collection’s very first look, which features a model in a Scottish kilt inspired pleated skort styled with leather Wellington boots with thick wool hiking socks. The majority of the collection’s looks were worn with these new grain leather Wellington boots traced with stitching up the ankle, which came in several colorways and materials.

JW Anderson

Designer Jonathan Anderson’s footwear designs never disappoint. For fall/winter 2024 shoes, a standout style is an updated take on his signature slide-on mules. This season, the style’s original oversized chain detail has been replaced with oversized leather tassels – nodding back to the sexy vibe of Anderson’s inspiration this season – the artworks of Christine Kubrick and the provocative interiors in “Eyes Wide Shut.”

Stuart Weitzman

After a sneak peek during Milan Fashion Week in September, luxury Stuart Weitzman presented its inaugural men’s collection on Sunday. The line is split into three collections: Club, Premiere and Resort. For a luxurious touch, Weitzman’s Premiere line Royce Oxford is a must-see. Available in black, Bordeaux and black wingtip variations, the shoe undoubtedly nods to the return to dressing up trend.

Santoni

This season’s star silhouettes come from the skillful hands of Santoni’s master craftsmen. Among the models this season is the lace-up suede ankle boot, hand shaded in hues of brown and finished with the flexible two-tone sole with Goodyear construction.

Prada

The sandal might be a non-traditional shoe for fall, but Prada’s new style is getaway ready. The fisherman-esque style sandal features two different colors of leather woven together in a playful take on the otherwise basic shoe. The style was seen on the runway in white and sky blue, white and salmon pink, and white and red colorways.

Tod’s

For fall/winter 2024, Tod’s presented the latest version of its iconic W.G. boot, which features an updated silhouette reminiscent of a Wallabee chukka boot. Inspired by the “aviator” world, made in suede and with sheepskin lining, the boot also comes in a new version influenced by the world of après ski, in leather trimmed sheepskin as well as this one in long fur.
