Atoms is expanding with its first kids‘ collection. Launching today is its first style called Model 123 in neon, purple and red colorways.

Retailing for $65 in size U.S. 9K to U.S. size 3 for both little kids and big kids, the shoes are designed for comfort and to encourage children’s sense of wonder. The kids’ Model 123 is available for purchase now on Atoms.com.

The shoes feature an embroidered Atoms flower logo to represent the simplicity and beauty. They have a heel loop for easy wear and a sole designed for everyday comfort, durability and stability. The shoes have an 8mm heel-to-toe drop to keep feet in their natural form while walking, a wide toe box and a flexible outsole for natural foot movement. The shoes also have a stretch lace system for easy wear and a recycled mesh fabric upper for breathability and structure. Additionally, the Atoms copper lining prevents odors and keeps the shoes smelling fresh. Plus, the shoes are machine washable.

Atoms shoes, which are made in South Korea, are designed with ethics and sustainability in mind, featuring recycled materials in the upper mesh, outsole and shoe box. The sole also uses a zero waste process of injection molding.

In addition, the company is offering a kids’ subscription program with three options for receiving a new pair of shoes every six, four, or three months, with a 10 percent discount for signing up. The shoes come with a one-year manufacturer warranty.

Atoms first launched by founder Sidra Qasim in June 2019 and currently offers two sneaker styles via its direct-to-consumer site for adult men and women.

This year, a steady flow of shoe brands have announced plans to either enter the kids’ category for the first time or expand their children’s collections by adding more sizing and style options. Brands such as Hoka, Scarossa, FitFlop, Kane and Aerosoles have all made bigger investments in the market. And for good reason. According to Circana’s Consumer Tracking Service, shoe sales for children under the age of 18 outperformed the adult footwear business during the 12 months ended March 2023.
