Walker Scobell gave monochrome dressing a sporty kick at the UK premiere of “Percy Jackson And The Olympians.” Based on the book series by Rick Riordan, the fantasy show — which Scobell stars in as the titular character alongside Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries, premieres on Disney+ on Dec. 20.
Scobell arrived to the Odeon Leicester Square in London for the show’s latest premiere on Saturday night, wearing a pair of blue Vans sneakers. The young actor’s style featured the skate brand’s signature Old Skool silhouette, complete with navy blue suede uppers overlaid with light blue paneling. White laces and rubber soles smoothly finished the set.
Scobell’s easygoing sneakers added a relaxed base to his outfit for the occasion: a cross-hatched, tonal blue suit, featuring a sharply lapeled blazer and matching pleated trousers. The set was layered atop a similarly deep blue collared shirt, creating a streamlined, monochrome appearance.
Low-top sneakers like Scobell’s are favored for their easygoing silhouette and nostalgic roots, reminiscent of ’80s and ’90s skate culture. Paneled styles with suede, canvas and leather uppers have gained popularity for their more relaxed textures, which are sharply finished by rubber soles for a balanced base.
