In a new portrait revealed by Kensington Palace, Middleton appears in the lace-up boots while dressed down in dark denim jeans that she coupled with a black Polo shirt. On top, she layered an army green jacket for some dimensional color.

Middleton posed with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who posed around her in colorful getups comprised of prints and patterns. They all opted for cozy footwear.

About the Shoes

The See by Chloé combat boots derive from a distinct utilitarian aesthetic. Crafted from a rich brown suede material, the casual style offers up effortless luxury. The sturdy construction of these boots is complemented by a lace-up design and gold-tone metal eyelets while the layered sole gives contrast with the light brown leather detail. Because the outsole is made of durable rubber with a deep tread pattern, the impeccable traction may be one of the reasons we have seen Middleton in the style time and time again.

Just last year, the royal selected the same boots in December 2023 while volunteering at a baby bank.

Combat Boots: A Stylish Rebellion

The journey of combat boots as a fashion statement can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s, when the Dr. Martens boot became a signature element of British punk style. For many shoe lovers, the footwear echoed the rebellious spirit of the counterculture. The fervor for these shoes spread to the United States in the 1980s, fueled by the popularity of bands like the Sex Pistols and The Clash. Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss were the first models to wear combat boots on the runway during the Perry Ellis spring 1993 ready-to-wear show under the direction of Marc Jacobs.

See by Chloé: Affordable High Fashion

Created in 2001 by the French fashion house Chloé, the See by Chloé label was designed as a more affordable diffusion line. Prior to Chloé’s launch in 1952, luxury fashion houses only produced made-to-measure clothing. Chloé founder Gaby Aghion saw a different vision and created a line of high-quality, ready-to-wear clothing, introducing the Pret-a-Porter market. Chloé became synonymous with a bohemian style, and had prominent designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney over the years. The last collection was created in 2020, the Resort 2021 collection.

Kate Middleton’s Shoe Style

The Princess of Wales often steps out in pointed-toe pumps from well-known brands such as Emmy London, Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman. Her favorite choice is the 105 pumps from Gianvito Rossi, which she has in five different colors. Apart from her royal collection of heels, the mom of three has also been spotted wearing budget-friendly sneakers from brands like New Balance, Adidas, Superga and Zara, both on and off official engagements.
