Roberts usually gravitates towards cozier styles like flats and sneakers. When perusing her Instagram feed, you’ll find her running in Central Park in vibrant blue Saucony sneakers and then sporting bowtie strappy sandals while co-hosting ABC’s “2020” with David Muir. The range is most definitely there.

About the Shoes

These mules feature PVC straps that produce a transparent, minimalist effect, creating the illusion of elongated legs. The heels, measuring three inches in height, elevate the wearer’s stature, while the glossy beige patent leather adds a touch of luxury. The rounded toes and streamlined silhouette lend a contemporary and minimalist aesthetic to the mules. The PVC straps gently cradle the feet while the padded footbed provides all-day comfort. The durable rubber outsole offers superior traction, making these mules suitable for both indoor and outdoor wear.

Shoe Style: Mules

Mules are shoes featuring an open back without any type of strap or constraint on the heel. The shoe style is most often thought of in its closed-toe variety, though it can also be an open-toed shoe silhouette featuring a thick strap across the top of the foot. Mules were first popularized in the 17th century as bedroom slippers, later becoming fashionable thanks to wealthy women in the French court.

The shoe variety reemerged in the 1950s, with stars like Marilyn Monroe favoring the style — especially the newer open-toe style. Mules recently saw a bump in popularity in the 2010s in all types of fashion. The style can feature a variety of heel heights, with closed-toe mules often featuring flat soles while open-toe varieties often feature high heels.
