PUMA’s Fast Rider returns next month, this time joining the RS-X3 as a part of the new “Luxe” pack. Featuring upgraded premium materials, this new “Whisper White” colorway hits stores next week.
In the 1980s, running technologies were in a very different place. These days, we have different gels and foams underfoot to provide cushioning, but in the early days of sneaker technology, the materials underfoot were much simpler. Around that time, PUMA introduced the Fast Rider, which looked to new Federbein rubber outsoles for extra shock absorption and a featherlight upper for an extra edge against the competition. While the technology inside the Fast Rider is out of date in 2020, the style is still immensely popular, leading PUMA to revive the vintage sneakers in their original form earlier this year. Now, the original ’80s Fast Rider is ready to drop next week as a part of the upgraded “Luxe” pack. Featuring a new construction of premium mesh, suede, and leather, the new look adds gold foil PUMA branding for a luxurious finish.

PUMA’s new LUxe addition of the vintage Fast Rider to their lineup has been scheduled to release next week, on June 1st, 2020.
