Nike’s Air Tuned Max has begun its triumphant return, reintroduced as a retro model this year for the first time since 1999. A beloved entry in the Air Max line, now, Nike is beginning to unveil new colorways of the Tuned Max, like this “Aquamarine” look, coming soon.

When the Nike Air Tuned Max was first introduced in 1999, it was the pinnacle of the brand’s various Air technologies combined with other essential running properties into one. The mixed material construction, featuring mesh, synthetic leathers, and plastic TPU caging, made for one of the most comforting yet high-performing running shoes of the era, and has since become a legend amongst Nike heads not only for these traits, but for its elusiveness over the past 22 years. Despite being one of the Swoosh’s most beloved Air Max, it remained in the brand’s archives for over two decades. However, we could not be more overjoyed at the return of this excellent silhouette, which has now surfaced in a new “Aquamarine” colorway for the coming year. The new look mixes a white mesh base with black plastic cages and a shimmering aquamarine blue overlay, all mounted on top of a neutral grey midsole to complete the look.
