Nike is gearing up to revive the elusive mid-height cut of the Air Force 1 this year, unleashing a slew of exciting colorways all year long. This week, we have an early look at a new orange and olive-clad version, coming soon.

Nike’s Air Force 1 is as essential to the brand’s history as Michael Jordan, Tinker Hatfield, and Air technology. Originally released in 1982 for the basketball court, and produced in high, mid, and low-top iterations, the Air Force has remained one of the most popular shoes on earth nearly 40 years after its debut. So, as Nike prepares to celebrate the shoe’s upcoming fortieth anniversary in 2022, it should come as no surprise that they are prepping the AF1 Mid for a grand return. Having already surfaced in a number of new premium colorways so far, today we have an early look at a new color scheme we are going to call the Ninja Turtle. The look begins with a white leather base, before adding the lush olive leather overlays too the mud guard and heel sections. The Swoosh logo appears in safety orange several times around the shoe; on the jewel Swoosh on either side, as well as two additional embroidered logos, one on the collar strap and another at the base of the lacing system. Finally, brown Nike Air branding appears on heels and tongues, while the phrase “inside out or outside in, as long as you’re right within” decorates the backside of each tongue tab.
