New Balance has a brand new silhouette in the works for 2024, taking the sole unit from the 9060 and applying a laceless suede upper to create the new 8040, coming soon.
New Balance has long been known as the ultimate brand behind the “dad” shoe. Sturdy, and built for long-lasting performance, NB sneakers have only recently become widely popular, and they are taking full advantage of it. Whether that means reviving shoes for a second life or crafting all new models, they have done an incredible job of keeping things fresh. This year, they are set to introduce another brand new style, the 8040. The new model is built on the tooling of the 9060, a very unique NB model when it was first introduced several years ago. The 8040 opts for a more casual look for the upper, removing all the laces and intricate paneling in favor of a simple all-suede construction with a velcro closure.

New Balance’s next new silhouette has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to launch sometime later this year. The model has been seen in three colors so far, brown, navy, and tan, all composed of suede which will likely carry a hefty price tag of $150 or more.
