Chinese retailer COSTS is back with another Asics collaboration this week, this time using the GT-2160 for their canvas and giving is a clean cream and navy color scheme with a ‘Shao Ji’ theme.
Asics has grown close with Chinese retailer COSTS over the past few years, teaming up for a number of collaborations since 2020. This Summer, the two released a ‘Cane Vine’ pair of the GEL-Lyte III, and now their follow up collaboration has surfaced, and is set to release this week. taking inspiration from Shao Ji, a traditional woven bamboo basket for washing rice, the two have selected the GT-2160 as their canvas. The look features a healthy dose of cream white breathable mesh for its underlay, adding soft suede overlays in a darker shade of off-white. The ASICS branding and laces come in a deep navy blue tone, with both brands’ logos printed on the latter. Finally, Shao Ji branding appears on both tongues as well as the insoles.

COSTS and Asics’ latest project together made its debut via the Shenzhen brand this week, though Asics’ wider release has been scheduled for this week, on November 28th, 2023. The ‘Shao Ji’ colorway of the GT-2160 will be available direct from the brand’s website as well as select retailers for $140.
