Up Close With The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low “Buttercup”

From honoring the Jedi of Star Wars to paying tribute to De La Soul, the Nike SB Dunk Low has endeared itself to a number of pockets of sub-culture throughout its 20-plus-year existence. Following months of speculation, the silhouette’s latest collaboration with the Powerpuff Girls has since been previewed in full, striking up a clad-green palette for Buttercup.

The three-part pack was initially previewed by the group’s ringleader, Blossom. Joining the striking pink pair is the rebellious Buttercup, who transitions her iconic black, green and white super suit onto the low-top trim. The collection’s synonymous use of the character’s enlarged eyes is embroidered amidst the heel tab while the insoles depict a number of colorful speech balloons and the appearance Mojo Jojo. The green-dominant upper is tooled with a smooth satin finish while jet-black contrasts bring clarifying hits to the midsole, rope laces and profile swooshes.

The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low pack is expected to release on December 14th. In the meantime, the “Buttercup” pair can be seen below in detailed imagery.

In other news from the Beaverton brand, the Dunk Low “Dingy Grey” recently surfaced.
