Did you feel a rush while watching Troye Sivan’s new music video for “Got Me Started”? For the Australian singer and actor’s second single off of his forthcoming album “Something to Give Each Other,” Sivan headed to Bangkok, Thailand to team up again with “Rush” director Gordon von Steiner, as well as choreographers Sergio Reis and Mauro vd Kerkhof. The result: a provocative, exhilarating, visual feast that contrasts urban grit with gleams of neon lights and daybreak as Sivan adventures throughout the city with a cast of characters, dancing from dusk to dawn in Salomon ACS Pro shoes.

Whether he’s racing down cobblestone streets in a shiny silver Gucci getup or dancing in a Ludovic de Saint Sernin crystal tank top and faux leather pants on a water-soaked rooftop, Sivan’s Salomon ASC Pro sneakers were the ideal footwear choice for the stability he needed to move freely on any terrain.

“Basically, I’ve never done choreo[graphy] in my life up until the ‘Rush’ video,” the pop singer shared in a recent Instagram post, which features Sivan at the Bangkok dance studio as he practiced routines with 20-plus dancers before they began filming the music video. This is where we first eyeballed the Salomon ACS Pros on his feet, and upon close inspection of different vignettes of the music video, it seems to be the only shoes Sivan wears. (Meanwhile, the backup dancers sport a range of shoe styles, from classic Converse Chuck Taylor low-top canvas sneakers to Alexander McQueen Oversized white sneakers, and vd Kerkhof shows off some wild moves in Givenchy Black TK-MX Sneakers.)

Not familiar with the Salomon ACS Pros? The hiking and trail running shoe is part of the ACS line, named after Salomon’s Agile Chassis System, which provides stability throughout the foot (and can protect your feet during unexpected or quick lateral movements). The ACS Pros shoe design is actually an updated version of Salomon’s GCS Pro style that was released back in 2005, but the differences with the ACS line are found in the updated materials and technology. (Christian Tresser’s GCS Pro design looks just as modern now as it was considered back then, so why change it, right?)

Beyond the futuristic Gorpcore design, there are a number of standout features that add to the Salomon ACS Pros’ appeal. The Kurim structure on the shoe’s upper provides foot stability so you can enjoy the incredible breathability of strategically placed mesh paneling. Also, the Contragrip All Terrain rubber lug outsole can be worn and adapted to all types of terrain — an aspect of the Salomon ACS Pros that’s beautifully captured in the ‘Got Me Started’ video. The Salomon ACS Pros feature a 10MM heal-to-toe drop, which is great for heel strikers — and based on our observations, ideal for many of the dance moves in the “Got Me Started” music video. Oh, and of course, you can’t forget Salomon’s beloved Quicklace system — easy on, easy off.

The shoe’s weight leans a bit on the heavy side, which is great for some of the stomping moves in the music video, but if you’re also looking for a more cushioned running shoe, the Salomon ACS Pros might not be right for you. Personally, I just bought my first pair of Salomon ACS Pros; it’s really strikes the perfect balance between fashion and function.

Based on Sivan’s most recent Instagram post today, it seems “The Idol” star can’t stop wearing the Salomon ACS Pros while practicing those sweet dance moves. Guess this new album really got him started.
