The Nike Dunk Low “Panda” is both a regular fixture and a regular sellout. Amid the silhouette’s widespread popularity, there’s no colorway more ubiquitous than the simple mix of black and white that’s been nicknamed for the bear endemic to China. Now, Nike has confirmed it’ll bring a slight tweak to the sneaker with the Dunk Low Vintage.

Although “Dunk Low Vintage” is the name of the model, what differentiates the show is really just the colors it utilizes. Here, the sneaker maintains the same black and white color-blocking that Nike continues to re-up. One difference is that both the laces and the midsole switch from a pure white to one that’s yellowed to suggest a greater age. The other comes from a slightly different patina for the upper’s black leather making it look not quite as box-fresh as other “Panda” Dunks.

Much like an all-white pair of Air Force 1 Lows, aka “Uptowns,” the “Panda” Dunks have gone from a staple amongst sneakerheads to a shoe more broadly popular among the masses. Sneakerheads will now dog on the shoe for being worn by so many people well outside the culture, particularly “basic” white women, but it remains an undeniable hit nonetheless. If Nike can continue to sell out the restocks, it’ll certainly see the Vintage version fly off shelves as well.

The Nike Dunk Low Vintage “Panda” is slated for an Oct. 18 release through the SNKRS app for $125 in women’s sizing only. Should you miss out, the regular Dunk Low “Panda” will also restock Oct. 27 for $115.
