James Harden was among the guests last year at Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July “White Party,” and now his signature sneaker is nodding to the annual star-studded event in the Hamptons.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 8 “White Party” will kick off April as the fourth iteration of the highly acclaimed silhouette. As the name suggests, the sneaker is colorless — but that doesn’t mean all-white. Grey forms the shoe’s Primeknit knit base, as well as the translucent portion of the outsole that climbs up the shoe near the lateral toe.

Rubin, the CEO and founder of Fanatics, was a minority owner of the Philadelphia 76ers for nearly a dozen years and right up until Harden joined the team. At last year’s White Party, Harden was in attendance along with with 76ers owner Josh Harris and players Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey.

The Harden Vol. 8 has largely sold out in all three of its colorways released this year, bringing new excitement not only the Harden line, but also Adidas Basketball as a whole along with Anthony Edwards’ hit debut, the AE 1. Both sneakers boast a futuristic look with largely minimalist construction and color-schemes serving to highlight their respective lockdown technology.

Following the release of the “White Party” edition, a much brighter “Flamingo Fly” colorway in pink on orange will release later in April.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 8 “White Party” will release April 1 through Adidas’ website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $160.
