Bluemarble, a menswear label based in Paris, launched a new collaboration with Italian footwear company Diemme today. The shoes first debuted during the Bluemarble spring 2024 season runway show last June, and are finally available for purchase today.

Part sneaker, part mule, the shoes are a stylish reinterpretation of Diemme’s classic Maggiore slip-on shoe. The shoe combines two trendy styles, as both sneakers and mules continue to be reimagined in 2024. Brands like Nike have also taken on the unique combination.

The new design is decorated with hiking eyelets and an exaggerated tongue that can be worn with the shoe or removed for maximal customization, playing up Diemme’s history as a hiking brand in the Italian Dolomite mountains. The Bluemarble x Diemme collaboration comes in two new colors: all-black or taupe with brown accents, or shades “Black” and “Taupe.” The shoe features a suede upper body made from 100% cow suede leather and a Vibram rubber sole.

Diemme, a brand “inspired by the heritage of hiking boots” is known to make a shoe with an outdoorsy quality. This collaboration is no different. Combining utility and comfort, the hiking eyelets and unique shape give it an outdoorsy, streetwear style that can be dressed up or down. The collection explores self-expression through a range of influences, including hiking boots, which is noticeable in the design influences of the collection.

The shoes, like all of Diemme’s footwear, are handmade in Onè di Fonte, Veneto in northern Italy.

Diemme is a frequent collaborator with designers and clothing labels like Bluemarble. At Paris Fashion Week this month, the footwear company unveiled new sneakers with Cecilie Bahnsen and Asics. The brand has previously collaborated with White Mountaineering, Ten C, Très Bien and more on a wide range of footwear.

The collaboration retails for $552 and is available now on Bluemarbleparis.com and in select retailers.
