Sandy Liang has introduced her brand’s debut high heels — complete with a dose of ballerina style.
The New York-based designer has just released her first pair of heeled shoes within her growing footwear lineup, heavily leaning into her signature feminine aesthetic. The resulting $625 Slingback 45 style features a square-toed silhouette with elastic slingback straps, set atop 1.77-inch block heels for a subtle height boost.
Liang has cast the style with both smooth ballet-pink satin and black leather uppers, each topped by delicate front bows to mimic the appearance of a ballet slipper. The style fully embraces the rise of 2023’s hit “balletcore” aesthetic — which leans into ballerina-inspired pieces, textures and colors to showcase a feminine way of dress, ranging from light pink, white and dove-gray tones to delicate lace, satin and bow details.
However, the Slingback 45 isn’t Liang’s only style in her new shoe repertoire. For those craving a balletcore heel with greater elevation, the design has also released the Slingback 75 — a $675 pump style with 2.96-inch block heels.
Similarly to its cousin, this style features a square-toed slingback silhouette inspired buy ballet slippers; however, its colorways are starkly neutral, featuring brown or black uppers crafted from smooth satin for a romantic finish.
Liang’s high heel releases follow the introduction of her footwear line in Sept. 2022. Previously, the designer’s debut ballet flats featured an adjustable buckle-strapped Mary Jane silhouette in pink, black and brown satin, as well as pink and black leather colorways. This year, Liang’s also introduced double-strapped red and blue satin flats in her fall 2023 lineup — with additional green and white styles seen in her spring 2024 runway show during New York Fashion Week.
