Golden Goose is going back to the ’70s for its latest sneaker launch.
The Italian brand has released its newest shoes, the Marathon sneakers, just in time for autumn. The men’s and women’s style, which retail between $545 to $595, features a silhouette inspired by vintage sportswear and the power of dreams. Each pair includes a nylon base with narrowed toes and rounded counters, accentuated by either smooth suede or leather paneling.
Each shoe’s faintly flared rubber soles further lean into the nostalgia of the ’70s, completed by Golden Goose’s signature starred rubber outsoles. The brand’s star symbol completes each shoe with a pop of upper graphics.
The lace-up sets come in a variety of colorways, as well. The women’s range includes blue, black and metallic silver nylon colorways, as well as a second black iteration in ripstop nylon. Meanwhile, the men’s Marathon styles are available in a white and beige colorway, as well as a silver-paneled style in ripstop nylon.
In addition to its variety of new sneakers, Golden Goose has leaned into the spirit of its new line with an accompanying range of $80 to $750 track-and-field-inspired attire. This similarly themed line, cast in hues of silver, black and off-white, includes socks, a baseball cap and a cropped T-shirt — as well as metallic running shorts, cargo pants and a windbreaker. The pieces, alongside the shoes, can be seen in the brand’s accompanying campaign starring its global ambassadors Sunmi and William Chan.
