The Collabs: Sanuk Hits the Road With Airstream, Teva Teams Up With Cotopaxi + More

July 30, 2020: Casual California-based brand Sanuk, has teamed up with Airstream Supply Company, best known for its silver bullet travel trailers, for a capsule collection of men’s and women’s styles for today’s road trippers. The 4-style series marries Sanuk’s best-selling styles with the Airstream’s adventurous spirit and includes playful details such as embroidered trailer patches and pink lawn flamingo prints. “As summertime comes to its peak, we’re thrilled to partner with Sanuk on this collection of Airstream — themed footwear,” said Bob Wheeler, president and CEO of Airstream. “Airstreamers travel to relax, recharge and have fun, and Sanuk’s comfortable approach to casual footwear will appeal to both Airstream owners and those who dream of one day hitting the road in a silver bullet.” For men, there’s the Furreal Classic flip-flop and Vagabond style, while for women there’s the Yoga Sling 2 and Donna style. The collection is available on Sanuk.com and retails from $35-$55.

July 28, 2020: Teva and fellow outdoor brand Cotopaxi are sharing their commitment to protecting the environment by offering products made of remnant and recycled materials. The Teva x Cotopaxi collection features Teva’s classic sandal, the Original Universal, and Cotopaxi’s signature Teca windbreaker, in playful prints and neon colors. The sandal is designed with a mix of Repreve recycled polyester webbing coupled with colorful straps featuring upcycled Cotopaxi Del Dia ripstop fabrics. The Teca Half Zip windbreaker is constructed from repurposed polyester taffeta. Available in men’s and women’s styles, the sandal retails for $70, with the unisex windbreaker retailing for $90. Both will be sold in select specialty stores and online at Teva.com and Cotopaxi.com.

July 27, 2020: Cariuma is transforming its eco-friendly sneakers with a second collaboration with Pantone following its successful “Color Of The Year” collaboration. Made with organic cotton canvas, raw natural rubber and gathered through ethical “tapping,” the styles are 100% vegan and take inspiration from the color palettes found in nature. Available at Cariuma.com, the OCA Low kicks retail for $89 while the OCA High sells for $98. For every pair of Cariuma sneakers purchased, the brand will also be planting a pair of trees in the Brazilian Rainforest.

July 27, 2020: Reef is partnering with photographer and artist Jordi Koalitic for an Instagram-based campaign challenging people to find positivity in today’s uncertain times. Koalitic was tapped by the brand for his ability to find inspiration in everyday things, flipping inanimate objects to create something unique. Via the campaign, which runs through July 29, Reef is encouraging its followers to think about a recent time where they’ve made light of a difficult situation. On the last day of the campaign, the brand is sponsoring a daylong giveaway where one participant has the opportunity to win a Nikon Z5, the camera Koalitic uses. July 24, 2020: DC Shoes and streetwear label 40s & Shorties joined forces for an exclusive collection of sneakers and apparel. The skate-inspired collaboration combines the aesthetics of both brands with trending tie-dye infused accents and standout detailing. Described by 40s & Shorties co-founder and designer Adem Niazi as a “raw, energetic, DIY mentality,” the collaboration drops online at DCShoes.com and at select retailers starting on July 25.

July 21, 2020: John Elliott has teamed up with Japanese brand Suicoke for an update on two of its signature sandals. The West Coast designer gave the brand’s Tono Thong and Zip Sandal updated colorways and added a chunky “Shark” sole. But these sandals make more than just a statement. Equipped with a Vibram outsole, the shoes offer traction for a variety of surfaces one might find themselves treading on this summer. The Zip Sandal retails for $210 and the Tono Thong, $180, will be available online at John Elliott and Suicoke websites starting today.

July 15, 2020: Teva is launching its fourth and final drop as part of its ongoing collaboration with retailer Opening Ceremony. The limited-edition two-style collection includes a colorful, bold platform sandal and strappy gladiator style. The women’s Flatform Universal has a six-color striped midsole and OC logo on the heel, and retails for $100. The unisex Hurricane XLT2 Gladiator is a rendition of one style from an earlier collaboration between the two and retails for $125.  The shoes are available beginning today at Teva.com/Opening Ceremony and openingceremony.com.

July 14, 2020: Dr. Martens is readying to launch its seventh installation of its 1460 Remastered campaign with Samuel Ross, the designer behind UK-based streetwear label A-Cold-Wall, known for his socio-political graphics. Inspired by the British social climate and youth culture, the collaboration combines elements of working-class uniform with Ross’ architectural approach to tailoring. The 1460 boot features pointed, angular elements, no eyelets, and an added zip. It’s finished with a dual-branded silicone zip pull and A-Cold-Wall branded heel debossment. It retails for $230 and is available in limited numbers beginning on July 27 online, and at select retail partners.

July 14, 2020: Ugg is releasing the CA805 x Steller’s Jay sneaker, the July drop from of its 12×12 sneaker program, now available for purchase. The program celebrates the brand’s sources of inspiration, including art and nature, to paint a picture of California. The new drop draws inspiration from Steller’s Jay, a Western bird dominating ranges from the Rocky Mountains to the California coast. It features a featherlike print and mohawk upper made from spiky Toscana sheepskin. I’s also named after the California zip code where Ugg is headquartered. The limited-edition sneaker, retailing for $150, is available in two versions and is available at ugg.com and in Ugg store locations on Madison Avenue in New York, Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and Powell Street in San Francisco.

July 14, 2020: A pair of Wolverine World Wide Inc. brands have come together for a slide collaboration. Available now is the Endorphin Chillos, a collab delivered by Saucony and Chaco, which arrived today via Chacos.com women’s sizing. The limited-edition look is inspired by the bright and bold colors of Saucony’s recently-released Endorphin Collection of performance running sneakers. The release is for runners looking for post-run recovery, which is provided by Chacos’ LuvSeat arch-support and corrective footbeds. The Endorphin Chillos retail for $50.

July 13, 2020: Keds and Rifle Paper Co. joined forces yet again for a fall ’20 range with seven new styles. Keds’ Double Decker, Champion, Kickstart and Kickstart Hi sneakers have been decked out in embroidered floral patterns from Rifle Paper Co. July 2, 2020: Gaming gear brand HyperX and athleticwear maker Champion have debuted their second limited-edition capsule. The Reflective Collection, available for purchase at 11 a.m. ET on July 9, features unisex black T-shirts ($35) and fleece hoodies ($80) — plus, for the first time, slides ($45). All items are designed with a light-reflecting logo treatment. It marks HyperX’s first international apparel launch and is for sale in more than 100 countries. The brand announced its partnership with Champion in October when it released a collection of T-shirts, hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts that sold out the first weekend of its launch.

July 1, 2020: Jonathan Cohen joins forces with Tidal New York for a third collaborative collection — this time debuting a series of summer-ready flip flops. As part of Cohen’s Our Flower Shop line, the pairs will be made in Tidal’s low waste factor in New York for a sustainable twist. The sandals retail for $40 per pair and will be available exclusively on July 15 at JonathanCohen.com and TidalNewYork.com. As part of the new collection, the brands will also be donating 30% of the proceeds to the Greyston Foundation, an organization that transforms lives through breaking the cycle of poverty with community efforts, job opportunities and no-cost development programs.
