Regina King and Her Sister Reina King Bring Trendy Shoe Styles to ‘Shirley’ Premiere

Regina King and her sister, Reina King, looked ready for a night out at the “Shirley” premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Both sisters walked on the red carpet in trendy and contrasting shoe styles.

Regina King slipped into a pair of gold pumps, embracing the metallic shoe trend. Meanwhile, Reina King chose a green pair of Jimmy Choo’s Heloise velvet platform sandals, which featured 4.7-inch block heel.

The King sisters star in the new John Ridley-directed Netflix film, “Shirley,” a biopic about Shirley Chisholm, the first Black congresswoman and former presidential hopeful. The film is now available for streaming.

Metallic Shoe Trend

Metallic shoes made their presence known last summer and were established as a fall fashion must-have. Prada, Manolo Blahnik, Gucci and other luxury designers debuted shiny gold and silver shoes on their fall 2023 runways.

Prada’s take on the metallic trend includes pumps covered with gilded patent leather with a long, sharp pointed toe. The tall, skinny golden stiletto heels add four inches of height and maximum elegance. The gold patent leather Prada pumps are not available on their website, although they have a similar patent leather pump available in white, black and red.

Metallic stilettos were also trending at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, with Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Margot Robbie wearing dazzling jewel-toned ones that coordinated perfectly with the color of their dresses.

Jimmy Choo’s Heloise Sandals

Made in Italy, Jimmy Choo‘s Heloise platform sandals feature an open-toe silhouette with a buckled ankle strap for extra comfort and leather lining. The $975 style chosen by Reina King was finished with a velvet leather upper.

Regina King’s Shoe Style

The Oscar-winning actor often wears stylish designer pointed-toe pumps or stiletto sandals on the red carpet. Recently, she wore glamorous and trendy clear Christian Louboutin rhinestone-encrusted pumps at the 2024 Oscars.

When she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for “If Beale Street Could Talk” in 2019, she opted for white satin pointed-toe Jimmy Choo pumps.

The designers King often wears include Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik and Stuart Weitzman.
