Gayle King arrived at the 81st Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday wearing a striking pair of glossy silver shoes inspired by one of the season’s most popular trends in footwear: metallic.
The host of “CBS Mornings” walked the red carpet in a pair of eye-catching metallic shoes, ready to interview celebrities and commentate on the exciting buzz of the award show’s atmosphere. Peeking out from King’s purple hemline, her brightly tinted pointed-toe kitten heels looked effortlessly chic.
The statement shoe added depth and dimension to King’s solid-colored gown while complimenting the texture of the dress’ bodice with some shine.
In addition to her brightly tinted shoes, King wore a grape gown from Solace London that featured a cinched waistline and a one-shoulder neckline. The bodice of King’s dress was ruched and gathered to one side where it expanded into a full and rounded sleeve, ending just above her elbow. Finishing her look with a stack of colorful bracelets, long earrings and large glasses, King kept her accessories minimal yet fun.
King’s makeup was kept simple with a burgundy lip and smudgy black eyeliner, so as to not distract from the star’s many other style elements. The look, classic yet elevated, paired perfectly with King’s choice of trendy footwear.

The Golden Globe Awards celebrate the top performances across film and television. This year’s ceremony is hosted by comedian Jo Koy and features a star-studded afterparty presented by Billboard and Rémy Martin.
