Skechers Reveals Pet-themed Collection For Charity

Skechers wants every dog to have its day.

The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based company, which said in November it would donate as much as $3 million to save the lives of dogs and cats in the U.S., yesterday revealed a limited-edition line of shoes that benefits the Best Friends Animal Society.

The collection, now in Skechers stores and on its Website, features five styles created on the classic canvas alpargata silhouette. Each version will display a variety of prints of dogs and cats, as well as the logo of the nonprofit, which is devoted to preventing the killing of pets in shelters across America.

“We’re thrilled to bring our charitable partnership with Best Friends Animal Society to life with the launch of the limited edition Bobs from Skechers collection,” Robert Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of Skechers, said in a statement.

“We hope our partnership with Best Friends will inspire our customers to consider adoption when looking for a pet, in order to reduce the number of shelter pets killed each year. We’re excited to continue to offer new ways in which we’re able to empower our customers to give back.”

To further spread awareness, Skechers has launched co-branded shoe box packaging and in-store promotional materials. In the coming weeks, the company will also kick off a national advertising campaign that includes TV, print and digital marketing.

For each pair sold, a portion of the proceeds will go toward Skechers’ $3 million pledge.
