The 990’s original designers were tasked with creating the single best running shoe on the market. The finished product more than lived up to its billing. When it hit shelves for the first time in 1982 the 990 sported an elegantly understated grey colourway and a then-unheard-of three-figure price tag. For avid runners and ahead-of-the-curve tastemakers alike, the 990 was a mark of quality and superior taste. There have been updates to the design since ’82, and more colour options, but the 990’s aspirational status symbol aura has never changed. Simply put, the 990 is the shoe so good, that we’ve never stopped making it. The MADE in USA 990v4, originally introduced in 2016, continued to refine the v3's modernization of the silhouette. This new addition to the Seasonal Collection features a mesh, nubuck, and suede upper, outfitted in Arctic grey, set against a contrasting black sole unit.

- Returns and/or exchanges are only accepted within 14 days of purchase date.
- Sale product may only be exchanged for alternative sizing in the same product should there be stock available, in the event of a refund a gift card will be issued.
- To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it in. It must also be in the original, undamaged packaging i.e. the Shelflife carton it is shipped in. Should you not ship it in this carton, there will be penalties if the product is damaged.
- Refunds for online purchases will be refunded back to the same payment tender that the original sale, once the goods arrive at our warehouse – note the process to return an order can take up to 7 working days.
- Credit/Debit card refunds take 7-14 working days to reflect in the account, which is standard across all banks in South Africa.
- Should you wish to return to a store for a refund, the refund will be done back to the same tender that the original sale was made, with exception of the following tenders which will be refunded back onto a Shelflife Gift Card – Mobicred, Payflex, PayJustNow.
- Gift Card refunds take 48 hours to process and are valid for 36 months.
- In the event of a return due to a customer fault, such as the ordering of the incorrect size, the customer will be fully liable for all return shipping fees incurred. Shipping fees for collection within South Africa are R100 (from your door back to our warehouse).
- In the case of a refund however, Shelflife will deduct R200 from the order amount to cover all shipping costs including the original delivery cost.
- In the event of a return due to a Shelflife fault, Shelflife will cover full shipping fees incurred.
