Early this year, Boston-based brands Bodega and Saucony teamed up for a collaboration that unearthed a mysterious new silhouette from the Saucony archives. Titled the GRID Azura 2000, the retro runner is finally available in new colorways this week.

Originally designed in 1999, the GRID Azura 2000 was never actually released, remaining a mysterious object in the vault for almost 20 years, until the team at Bodega unearthed it last year. Constructed from lightweight mesh and jagged suede overlays, the Azura 2K was intended as an all-purpose running silhouette. Now, the thick silhouette is better tuned for lifestyle wear, which Saucony is backing up with some fresh new colorways for Summer. Launched earlier this week, the GRID Azura’s first standard-release color scheme add some flashy tones to the already-eye-catching sneaker. First up, one pair begins with a light orange color for the mesh base layer and suede mudguard, while black teeth-like overlays provide a tiger striped-look. For the second pair, white and grey make up the initial layers, before waves of purple suede are added as the final touch, alongside a hot pink Saucony river logo.
