The PUMA Suede was first introduced in 1968 and has since become a footwear and pop culture icon thanks to its presence around the sporting world. This week, PUMA’s ‘Made in Japan” version returns in three new colorways.

PUMA’s classic Suede sneaker has seen a lot of love from the brand this year, celebrating the silhouette’s history and proximity to pop culture. Last Fall, the German sportswear brand launched its latest iteration of the classic Suede, subtitled Vintage, recreating the silhouette as close to the original pairs from ’68 as possible. Then, shortly afterward, PUMA launched another retro iteration, this time taking the Suede Vintage overseas to Japan, where some refinements were made to the design before being assembled by expert Japanese craftsmen. The result is a beautiful rendition of the classic Suede, done up in fine materials. This week, PUMA launched three new colorways of the Suede Made in Japan, or MIJ for short, giving you the choice of two louder colorways in yellow/green and red/black, or a much simpler option featuring a pale grey upper with black PUMA Formstrips.
