Nike’s yearly Be True collection has become a staple in sneakerheads’ June release schedule. Featuring a wide variety of past and present Swoosh silhouettes, this year’s release includes one of our current favorite running shoes, the Zoom Pegasus turbo.
Nike has another win in their book with this year’s Be True collection. The early leaks showing the bold and colorful takes on the Air Max 720 and Air Max 90 have been well received, as well as the more subtle approach to the Air Tailwind ’79. However, my personal favorite is the most nondescript silhouette of the bunch, the Zoom Pegasus Turbo. Well-known for its excellent performance capabilities as a running shoe, it has been growing in popularity amongst sneakerheads thanks to its sleek and pointed look. The celebratory Be True colorway covers the upper of the shoe largely in black, with a bright rainbow taking over the usual forefoot stripe. The collar lining comes in a speckled forest green tone, while a split black & white midsole completes the look.

The Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo “Be True” is scheduled to release alongside the rest of the collection on June 8th, 2019. The special edition colorway will retain the standard $180, and release from both Nike and select retailers.
