Nike’s retro lineup of footwear has brought us some of our favorite silhouettes in recent years, and it looks like the Swoosh is about to do it again with their latest archival release. Check out the 1989 Lahar Boot, dropping next week.

Nike’s pre-2000s archives are absolutely choc-full of hidden gems and unearthed retros, but the Swoosh team has a special knack for reaching back in time to revive a forgotten silhouette perfect for the modern-day. This week, we got an early look at the latest such sneaker, which is taking us back to 1989 to celebrate the Lahar Boot. Debute in the same year as the ACG program, the Lahar boot was a precursor to the out-of-the-box footwear from Nike we would come to love, with the Lahar acting as a jumping-off point for heavy-duty outdoor footwear. The heavy-soled silhouette feature a multi-panel suede construction in the upper, and a rugged, thick rubber midsole with oversized lugs for improved grip.
