Nike’s Air Max BW has returned in a new retro format this year, celebrating the vintage runner’s thirtieth anniversary. Today, we have an early look at a new “White Violet” colorway, spun off from the shoe’s original style, coming soon.
Nike kicked off the Air Max BW’s thirtieth anniversary celebration earlier this year, reviving the 1991 running shoe in come of its original purple-based color schemes. Now, on the heels of the globetrotting “City Pack“, the Swoosh has begun to unleash its latest new color schemes into the world. Today, the second colorway in a string of in-line styles surfaced, showing off the “White Violet” look, a new spin on the shoe’s original ‘Persian Violet’ look. The remixed version essentially flips the placement of white and black panels, resulting in a largely white upper with a black bar running the perimeter, and the namesake violet tones lighting up the Swooshes, collars, and tongues.

Nike’s new twist on the original “Persian Violet” colorway of Air Max BW has yet to be announced for release, though we are expecting these surprise Air Max releases sometime in Spring 2022. Featuring bold color accents, these BWs will likely come with a price tag of $130 per. UPDATE 5/20/22: Nike has slated their updated version of the classic Air Max to release next month, on June 3rd, 2022. Releasing via the SNKRS app and select retailers, this pair come with a price tag of $130.
