Nike is all in on their Air Force 1 Mid this year, celebrating forty years of the legendary silhouette. This week, the mid-cut version surfaced in ‘Kentucky Blue’ complete with faded lilac laces, coming this Summer.

Nike’s Air Force 1 is as essential to the brand’s history as Michael Jordan, Tinker Hatfield, and Air technology. Originally released in 1982 for the basketball court, and produced in high, mid, and low-top iterations, the Air Force has remained one of the most popular shoes on earth nearly 40 years after its debut. So, with Nike releasing dozens of interesting and unique styles this year, it pays to stand out. Today, we are taking a look at the new “Kentucky Blue” color scheme of the AF1 Mid, which casts the silhouette in a simple blue and white blocking. Constructed from premium leathers, its the details that make this particular style shine. Noticeably, the ankle strap features a debossed Nike Swoosh on the tip, as well as sporting lilac-colored laces, mimicking the faded tones of vintage pairs originally released in the 1980s.
