The New Balance 992 will continue to debut in new colorways throughout 2021, with releases starting to heat up for the rest of the year. This week, we have a first look at a simple new color scheme, covering the 992 in brown tones, perfect for Fall.

New Balance’s retro run of the 992 silhouette continues to dominate both the brand’s and global sneaker release calendars, with new releases popping up on a near weekly basis. From original colorways to new styles and collaborations, the 992 has only picked up in both frequency of releases and popularity, making it remarkably harder to find the pair you want now than it was last year. Luckily, New Balance has plenty of styles in supply for the rest of 2021, like this new “Wheat” edition set to release as we edge into Fall. This version casts the 992’s suede upper almost entirely in monotone brown, though the side panels and heels both feature a non-matching shade of brown to break up the color blocking, while a split aged midsole completes the look.

UPDATE 2/11/22: New Balance’s “Wheat” colorway of the Made in USA 992 is now available from select retailers like END. Clothing.

UPDATE 1/20/21: New Balance’s ‘Wheat’-colored take on the classic 992 runner has finally surfaced, debuting overseas from SevenStore before quickly selling out. The delay is likely caused by the massive effects on global supply chains, though now that pairs have begun to pop up at retail, we are expecting a stateside drop sometime in the coming weeks.
