New Balance’s Version Series is back, celebrating the beloved 990 family with Made in USA releases and special colorways. This week, the 990v3 goes grey with new leather overlays.

New Balance’s ‘Version Series’ kicked off late last year, seemingly as a lead-up to the introduction of the 990v6. The series highlighted each version of the 990 in order, casting each style in the classic NB grey color scheme. While we are still anxiously awaiting the debut of the v6, Nb is keeping our appetite satiated with more releases from the Version Series. This week, we got an early look at a new dark grey color scheme of the 990v3, making this the first silhouette from the project to release in multiple colorways. The new look begins with the standard cement grey mesh base layer, adding navy blue mid-layers before finishing the look with steel grey leather overlays. Made in USA branding adorns the tongues, while the Version Series logo is present on the insoles.

New Balance’s next colorway of the ‘Version Series’ 990v3 MADE in USA has not yet been announced for release, though did launch in limited numbers from Extra Butter last month, with a global release likely to come. Pairs will likely be available then from both New Balance and select retailers with a price tag of $220.
