PUMA and Lamelo Ball’s partnership will be getting bigger very soon with the rookie NBA sensation set to drop his first signature basketball shoe ahead of the 2021-2022 season.

While many questioned Lamelo Ball’s journey to the NBA and if the youngest Ball brother would be a success in the NBA, the Charlotte Hornets and PUMA obviously saw the star potential which the Point Guard reached in his rookie season. Debuting a new playing style that shook the league and earned him the Rookie of the Year award despite missing time due to a fractured wrist, his early success this past year was just a portion of what he’s capable of. While his numbers were great, for his second year in the league there’s only one goal, playoffs. Before his second season officially gets underway, PUMA revealed just today that the star’s first signature sneaker will be “coming soon”. Dubbed the MB1, expect a complementary sneaker to Lamelo’s game, eyecatching and out of this world.

UPDATE 10/13: PUMA has finally officially revealed the PUMA MB.01 which is now set to debut in December of this year. Enjoy the first rendition in bright red below and stay tuned for more details.

UPDATE 7/20: We have a first look at the PUMA MB1 which has been shown off via LaMelo himself. PUMA looks to be stressing the player’s unique personality and playing ability with centering the collection as being “Out of this World” and “Not From Here” which has been amplified as a great marketing tool through social media thanks to this image that features LaMelo having 6 fingers and a thumb. Look for that theme to play a role throughout the MB1’s next year.
