JJJJound and New Balance first teamed up back in 2018, collaborating on an exclusive colorway of the brand’s 990v3. Now, the two appear to be celebrating this project by rehashing it in a new “Olive Green” colorway, coming soon.

The debut collaboration between Justin Saunders’ JJJJound and New Balance came back in 2018, when the two brands teamed up to work on the 990v3, at the time a ‘less prominent’ member of the NB 990 family tree, usually reserved for special projects and limited releases. The JJJJoound take on the v3 was simple, casting the shoe’s premium suede upper in a beautiful shade of “Urban Grey”, (though we would argue it came out more like a soft brown. Whatever.) The design featured a blacked-out ‘N’ logo, as well as plenty of silver 3M details. This week, JJJJound and New Balance have teased another release of the 990v3, this time coloring the shoe in the more aptly named “Olive Green” tone. The look is a fraternal twin to the original, sporting black ‘N’ logos, a white and cream midsole, and silvery accents to round out the fresh new look.

The latest project from New Balance and Canadian brand JJJJound, the olive green 990v3, has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks, initially from the JJJJound website followed by a potential global drop. The follow-up to their first collaboration back in 2018, the new olive colorway will likely come with a similar $240+ price tag.
