PUMA announced a new partnership with The Black Fives Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the history of African-Americans in basketball in the pre-NBA era. Now, the two are set to launch their first footwear collection, featuring the Future Rider and Clyde Mid.
Last month, PUMA introduced a new collaboration with The Black Fives Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to researching, preserving, showcasing, teaching, and honoring the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball. The foundation currently boasts the largest collection of pre-NBA-era memorabilia in its extensive archives. In addition to the apparel and now, footwear collections from the new partners, PUMA and The Black Fives have announced a multi-year partnership that will utilize the Fives’ knowledge and PUMA’s platform to raise awareness about the history, player recognition, and major contributors. While the apparel from the two’s first collection is available now, PUMA and the Black Fives are set to introduce their first collaborative footwear this week in the form of the Future Rider and the Clyde Mid. Featuring contrasting colorways in blue and off-white, the two shoes are united by the “Make History Now” slogan that unites the collection.

The upcoming footwear from PUMA’s collaborative collection with the Black Fives, featuring the Future Rider and Clyde Mid, has been scheduled to launch later this week, on March 12th, 2021. Following up on the pair’s Black History Month-inspired apparel collection from February, the sneakers will launch from both PUMA and select retailers, the Future Rider for $90 and the Clyde $120.
