Asics’ Gel technology from the 90s is still going strong. After the debut of the new 360 midsole earlier this year, the Japanese brand has crafted another new silhouette around the full-length cushioning, the Gel-Nandi, launching in black this week.

Asics’ new Gel-Nandi 360 is a love letter to some of the brand’s most famous vintage running sneakers. Sleek, layered, and packed with a variety of advanced technologies, the latest in the brand’s Gel 360 franchise blurs the line between rugeed off-road use and urban exploration. Beginning with a plain mesh base layer, the new silhouette applies two sets of overlays to the upper for reinforcement, both constructed from premium suede. The overlays form stripe-like motifs on either side, jagged and stretching from top to bottm like lightning bolts. The latest colorway of the Gel-Nandi 360 to hit retail shelves paints the shoe’s base in white, adding overlays in grey and black for a nice greyscale look. Red accents are used on the inner lining and tongue for a bit of pop.
