adidas Originals’ recent new designs have featured some futuristic takes on their retro archives. This week, the Oznova made its debut overseas, referencing classic like the Ozweego and the fan-favorite Yeezy 700.

The adidas Originals team has been hard at work reviving some of their archival sneakers over the past few years, delivering exciting new versions of silhouettes like the Ozweego, Forum, and ZX family. Now, they are gearing up for the launch of another addition to the Oz family, dubbed the Oznova. While the family resemblance is definitely there, it is also strikingly similar to elements seen throughout the beloved Yeezy 700 series, namely the shape and build of the v1 and v2 variants. The Oznova features a mixed material upper, comprised of suede, synthetic textiles, and semi-translucent rubber elements for a distorted look across the midsections. Padded collars add a more plush feel on foot, while a platform midsole with adiplus+ cushioning provides extensive comfort.
