adidas’ BYW technology is back. After resting on the back burner for a few months now, the Three Stripes is back to work on their basketball-turned-lifestyle franchise, Boost You Wear. This week, we take an early look at the next silhouette in line, the BYW LVL 3.

adidas’ Boost You Wear technology is barely a year old, and already being released on a wide variety of silhouettes. So far, we’ve seen two standard in-line models, the LVL 1 and low-top LVL 2, as well as a hybrid mash-up between the modern sole and the vintage Crazy 98 as a part of the Never Made collection. Now, adidas has readied the next entry in their BYW family, the Crazy LVL 3, mixing modern materials with an old-school look, releasing this Summer.

The adidas Crazy BYW LVL 3 is here, and they look great. Instead of pushing the updated midsole technology to fit on more modern-looking uppers, the adidas Originals team has instead opted for a look heavily inspired by the Crazy basketball line from the 80s and 90s. The result is a shoe constructed from a single-piece mesh upper, heavily reinforced by smooth suede overlays. The variable lacing system zig-zags across each quarter panel, while the classic Feet You Wear logo adorns the outer heel. The BYW LVL 3 will make its debut in a subtle black, white, & maroon color scheme, with more colorways expected to follow closely.
