adidas Speedfactories have taken on a new direction in 2019, moving away from their limited production runs of the past. Now, adidas is using them to create special edition sneakers in partnership with a variety of different brands & retailers.

The adidas AM4 has been used for a wide assortment of pop culture-focused collaborations in recent months. Starting with an ode to tennis legend Billie Jean King, the Speedfactory’s mainline silhouette then moved on to projects with Marvel’s The Avengers, dropping in two Captain Marvel and Thanos-themed colorways. Next up is another special project between Footlocker and adidas, pitting the sleek runner in a patterned look inspired by Game of Thrones’ infamous Iron Throne. Now, adidas and Footlocker are teaming up for an ongoing project centering around several famous sneaker cities. First up is one of adidas’ native cities, Berlin. For this special edition AM4, the upper features a colorful pattern featuring barbed wire, radio waves, and cloud-like bubbles. The main body is dyed in black, while the patterns come in yellow and white to stand out.
